Why getting the Joint Assessor Certificate (JAC)?
To increase the standardization, reproducibility and validity of clinical studies: consistency in the joint assessments is of critical importance to the overall validity of clinical trials performed by the PRCSG/Fondazione PRINTO. The Core Set of Outcome Measures for Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis/Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JRA/JIA) includes six parameters: two of which are directly derived from the joint examination. Staff members who perform the rheumatologic joint examination in clinical trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, need to have a Joint Assessor Certificate (JAC) issued by Fondazione PRINTO/PRCSG.
The certification of joint assessors is not limited in duration. However, if the process of the joint exam changes in any systematic way, assessors will need to undergo a new assessment. Additional documentation:
